Our Ministries

Word of Life Int'l visioned to empower the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to feed the flock. To lovingly shepherd the congregation by means of spiritual guidance, administration, supervision and mentoring for the purpose of making disciples who will become disciple-makers. To edify the body of Jesus Christ for the work of the Holy Spirit as instructed and mandated in the written Word of God.

The Pastoral Board is supervised by the Founder/Overseer with the help of the Advisory Board, our Leadership Board and all ordained staffs. The Pastors and Ministers are responsible for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching biblical revelation, serving in pastoral care functions and acting as chief administrator of the Church. The pastoral ministry accomplishes its mandate (to inspire and motivate the congregation to live and proclaim the gospel message of Jesus Christ) by fulfilling six basic functions outlined below. The main objective of this ministry is to equip the body of Christ to become disciple-makers for Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Development of Members
The spiritual development of the membership is promoted by preaching Christ-centered and biblically sound sermons, leading Bible studies and providing other spiritual and Christian leadership instruction for the congregants. In addition, the pastor trains and supervises local small groups facilitators, provides discipleship classes, coordinates local evangelism, and ordains deacons, deaconesses and local church elders according to the needs and the circumstances of the congregation.

Training and Supervision of Local Leaders The pastor is responsible to supervise the training of the local leaders, and to ordain elders, deacons and deaconesses as needed for the congregation. He also supervises all church leaders in the administration of the local church, and completes annual evaluations of associate and assistant pastors and any ministerial trainees.

Ceremonies
An important aspect of the pastoral ministry is to officiate and administer the various ceremonies needed for the spiritual care and development of the congregation, including (but not limited to) the Lord's Supper, baptism, wedding, funeral and blessing of children ceremonies. Also included is the prayer for and anointing of the sick, as well as a variety of celebrations connected to main events in the lives of the members.

Community Involvement
The pastoral ministry is also responsible to promote and facilitate the involvement of the congregation in the local community. The pastor himself is actively involved in promoting interdenominational cooperation, attending community functions as a representative of the church and conducting more specialized outreach services.

Pastoral Administration
The pastor supervises the maintenance of an accurate and standardized membership file of all church members, and administers church assistance to needy members according to denominational and local guidelines. He selects and coordinates an Advisory Council to help with church planning and administration, including ministerial and church expenses, hall rentals and local bank accounts. He also administers and coordinates the employment and use of local human and physical resources.

Counseling and Visiting
An important aspect of pastoral ministry is that of building lasting relationships with all members and prospective members of the congregation while offering spiritual guidance and comfort as needed. This is accomplished by visiting with the membership and by providing spiritual comfort and biblically sound counsel to congregants on spiritual matters. The pastoral ministry is a vital part of our congregation. It is our prayer and sincere hope that God may use this ministry not only to spiritually enrich and bless the congregation, but to equip and motivate the disciples of Jesus Christ to become mature disciple-makers who will glorify our loving Father in heaven.

Before connecting people with God, connect with God about people. And, continue to connect with God about people throughout the whole process. Why? -- Because it is Biblical. Because it works. Because it demonstrates love. Because outreach is about God. God provided for the salvation of the world through Jesus' death on the cross. We realize His unconditional love in the book of John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God is the One who seeks and saves, revealing Himself to people, and drawing people to Himself. If God did not do the seeking, saving, revealing, and drawing of people to Himself, all of our outreach efforts would be meaningless and fruitless.

Word of Life Outreach Ministry believes in sharing the love of God with every one, just as our Father in heaven loves us. Our Outreach mission is to expand on the pillars of Christian principles and core values. Since the establishment of WLI, our Outreach Ministry has embarked upon several projects which include: Sick Day Visitation, Prayer Services and prison centers. The Ministry has been very successful and instrumental in transforming some of those we minister to and has also brought forth tremendous changes in their lives.

Our Ministry is charged with the responsibility to:

• assuring people of the reality of God's love so people can feel and experience for themselves
• answering their doubts so they can know and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord
• awakening their faith so they hear and respond as "faith comes by hearing
• authenticating His message of reconciliation so they see and become accountable
• go to God on their behalf (intercessory prayer, standing in the gap).
• go to people as His ambassadors, on missions, one-on-one witnessing, visitation, door-to-door, church planting, etc.
• assuring people of His love through consideration and compassion, benevolence, community outreach.
• answering people's doubts through correction of misconceptions apologetics.
• awakening people's faith through communication of God's Word, preaching and proclaiming, teaching (one-on-one, neighborhood Bible studies)
• authenticating the message by characterization through reflection and lifestyle evangelism.

In 1 Corinthians 12 we are told that "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone." Through baptism each of us is called to serve God and the community in some way. Young people are especially encouraged to participate in liturgical life as Sunday School Teachers, Ushers and Greeters. Are you gifted in music? Are you an eloquent and commanding speaker? Is hospitality or organization or cleaning your gift? Liturgical ministry offers many opportunities to use your talent or skill to benefit the community in a small but very important way.

Liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call of service to one another. Our liturgies provide a broad spectrum where one can utilize the talents and gifts that God has given him/her to the fullest extent. Whether participation is through “behind the scenes” preparation and planning or through a public role of service within the Church, it is a truly life-giving celebrations.

Since WLI establishment, our Liturgical Ministry has prepared more than 12 people who received Chirst as our Savior and have received baptism. These newly flesh member of the body of Christ were introduce to the Ministry Early March and some are now becoming to take major roles in the Church Activities and also serving their community.

The Youth Ministry's vision is to make an impact of God into the daily lives of young people and show them the presence of God. Word of Life Int'l (WLI) provides young people with the opportunities to explore the mission of the Church in order to discern their own personal gifts through workshops, retreat and Bible study. It opens doors to opportunities for the use of those gifts within the context of community. The leadership of WLI serve as as Advisors to Youth Ministry and try to impart into them liturgically based in Scripture and gospel values that are grounded in our community.

Word of Life Int't visioned to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ; draw youth to responsible participation in the faith community’s life and work and foster each young person’s personal and spiritual growth.

To work within the Mission of the Church and to create a young christian community centered in Christ

To create an holistic environment of family based ministry for all 6th through 12 grade youth

To provide opportunities to involve youth in the liturgy (reading the Bible), community and outreach ministry

To work in accord with existing ministries to provide opportunities for personal growth and commitment and to provide opportunities for young adults involvement within youth ministry.

Children’s ministry is one of the most important ministries in the church. It’s important because they are our kids. They are the leaders of tomorrow. Children’s ministry cannot be just a babysitting service. Children’s ministry should have the church’s best and brightest teachers and leaders. We all want the best for our children, yet we grow complacent with accepting anyone with a pulse to teach our kids. It’s not a time to become self-indulgent. We have been commissioned and entrusted by God to train of the next generation.

Children, as well as adults, need the touch of Jesus on their lives. They are precious in Jesus’ sight. He loves them! He wants children to be brought to Him. "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Mk. 10:14). Children need help in learning how to navigate in today’s world … and they have so much of life ahead of them. Children are faced with war, terrorism, crime and other anxieties. Many of them are vulnerable, frightened, hopeless and helpless.

Children’s ministry is an equipping ground; it’s a time where kids should get together to celebrate God and reinforce the teachings of Christ that they should be receiving at home. If they’re not receiving godly teaching at home, then it’s a place of hope and love where we should be reaching out and become a Christ-like figure for those kids.

Word of Life Int'l is blessed with both youth and kids. The leadership is working very closely with parents to ensure that they take responsibility to bringing their kids to Christ just as our Lord has commissioned us.
